Sept 8-10 Morris County MUA Conducting 3 Days of Emergency Household Hazardous Waste Days in Pequannock

From Thursday, September 8 to Saturday, September 10 the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority is coordinating 3 days of emergency household hazardous waste clean up to manage many of the chemicals residents need to dispose of as a result of Hurricane Irene.

2011-08-25 – ANJHHWC Newsletter for 2011

The 2011 edition of The Household Hazardous Waste Coordinator Newsletter, ANJHHWC’s official newsletter, has been available for a few months now and is finally making it to the web.

Inside this edition you will find articles regarding:

  • ANJHHWC’s successful partnership with Call2Recycle promoting rechargeable battery recycling resulting in achieving the goal of at least a 15% increase in rechargeable battery recycling in New Jersey in 2010. Rechargeable battery recycling went up 22.5% in 2010.
  • There is also a list of NJ County HHW contacts and program information.
  • Finally, the state’s 2011 schedule of planned HHW events is provided. At least no events are scheduled for the weekend hurricane Irene is scheduled to hit NJ.That was good planning on behalf of New Jersey’s HHW coordinators. Good job people.

2011-06-01 – ANJHHWC Spring Meeting

Join the ANJHHWC for its spring 2011 meeting where the current state ofNew Jersey’s new Electronics Recycling Act will be the primary topic of discussion.  The Electronics Subcommittee will go over the potential of the ANJHHWC implementing a state-wide promotional campaign on behalf of the NJDEP which is mandated as part of the Act.  Additionally members will be discussing the season’s household hazardous waste programs.  Finally, the association will also conduct standard business such as minute approval, Treasurer’s Report, etc.  Please come join us, share your knowledge and enjoy the great American pastime in the background as ANJHHWC brings current HHW issues to the foreground.

  • From Route 1 – Take Route 1 South to Route 129, South Broad St./Chambersburg exit. Take Route 129 South to the second light (Cass St.). Turn right onto Cass St. west. Go through three lights and Waterfront Park is on the left.
  • From Route 295 - Take Route 295 North to Exit 60 for 195/29/129. After exiting 295 North, stay left & follow signs for Route 29 North. Continue staying left and following signs for 29 North/Capitol Complex/Lambertville. Ballpark is on left after exiting tunnel.
  • From New Jersey Turnpike Exit 7A – Take Interstate 195 West toward Trenton to Route 29 North. Stay left and follow signs for 29 North/Capitol Complex/ Lambertville. Ballpark is on left after exiting tunnel.
